Arranging a Memorial
Organising a memorial is a task that can be quite daunting, however with over 55 years experience in the industry we will help you choose a fitting memorial for your loved one. Below are some things to consider that will help you decide.
Full Memorial or Lawn Headstone
If the plot is in a lawn section, an upright lawn headstone set will be required.
If the plot is in a land section, there is then the choice between a full monument or a headstone set. A full monument will cover the full length and width of the plot.

Some things to decide:
- Format for dates, eg 1-3-1908 – 7-11-1999 or the more traditional Passed Away 1st January 1999, Aged 91.
- Maiden name or any nicknames
- Special quotes and sayings
- Spouse, children, siblings, grandchildren or parents
- Additional Interments. Will there be more details that need to be added later on after a second burial? If so, space for this will need to be allowed for.
Layout
Two headstone layouts are shown below.
A scaled proof of each headstone will be provided for your approval. If you are unsure of the layout, simply provide the lettering and we can design the layout for you.
Inscription Style
Gold inscriptions are sandblasted. They are then painted and gilded with 23 Carat Gold leaf. Gold lettering can last many years without fading or coming out. The same method can be used for painted White lettering. Sandblasted lettering is a low maintenance, natural inscription. The inscription is sandblasted, to allow the unpolished surface colour of the stone to show as the letters. Sandblasted lettering may be difficult to read when wet as there is no colour added. Relief lettering is where a box around each line of lettering is sandblasted instead. This will be an unpolished, natural surface and will leave the letters showing as a polished surface. Like the sandblasted method above it requires little to no maintenance but may be hard to read when wet. The colour of the stone chosen for the headstone may determine which type of lettering will be most effective. Traditional methods of lettering including; raised lead, lead in marble and V cut letters are also available. Simply ask for further information. |
Flower Containers
For full memorials long or round containers can be fitted in the front or side stones.
For lawn sets, round flower containers can be fitted in the base. External granite flower blocks to place on top can also be supplied with a container inserted. Ceramic PhotoA ceramic photo may be mounted on the headstone or the pillars beside the headstone.
Frame shape may be oval, round, or rectangular. The style may be plain or fancy and the colour may be gold, chrome, or bronze. Designs
